3 shows

Mood Happy
Music "The Man of Constant Sorrow" The Soggy Bottom Boys

Busy busy with work and with Grease and wow dancing is hard.

I've seen three shows in the last week or two: PPI's production of "One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest". It was ....ok. I personally have never liked the script and so I pretty much spent the entire evening waiting for first intermission and then for the curtain (which is a figure of speech since its a blackbox theater and hence, no curtain). I enjoyed my friends in it, but I really wasnt having much fun that night.

The next show that I happened to drop in on was "Same Time Next Year", the first show of the fledgling Dakota Organization in Gardnerville. I went in a skeptic but came out a believer. A thoroughly enjoyable production. I laughed quite a bit and (to my surprise) even managed to stay awake throughout the entire show. The actors (it was a two man show, one guy, one gal) were very good. I found that was a night that I loved that I had gone to the theater.

Lastly, last night, Caity and I decided to forgoe plans to see 'The Cashier' up in Tahoe and head toward Reno with C, L, and W instead to catch TMCC's "Urinetown". Let me tell you , I havent seen any shows that they have put on before, and I have only heard about "Urinetown" and my first impression is "What the hell kind of name is Urinetown?" even before I found out it was a musical. However, this show BLEW ME AWAY. Fantastic acting, loved the singing and the choreography was B-E-A-utiful. Urinetown is probably one of the funniest, wittiest, most feel good times you can have at the theater today in my opinion. One of the shows you watch and you wish bitterly that you had tried out for it. Gyah, I suggest you go watch it if you ever get the chance. Grats to my boys Donald P. and Bradford K. for their good jobs in the show. Rod Hearn was the man as well. God I hope Grease comes together as well as TMCC's did.

Yeah, Im jealous.

Upcoming: Seussical the Musical, The Cashier, Forever Plaid.
